Based on a random idea: Survivors-like with generational play (breeding, gene passing, etc to boost survivor character)
Status: Incomplete but submitted anyway
Here's what I had in mind when I made this:
On top of the typical playing of one character to survive a horde of enemies, I wanted the game to focus on the survival aspect beyond the combat arena. What you have is a village which will be destroyed by an encroaching invasion unless a hero from the village fights the horde. The horde doesn't come with the full host; they send an increasingly larger waves of enemies and the hero can choose to destroy the whole wave or fight only a small group and hope by attracting the attention of the wave, the village would have the time to prepare for the remaining monsters.
Both surviving and dying have consequences for the village. Even if the hero survives, if they chose to fight only a few of the enemies, the remaining enemies will go to the village. The more the hero chooses not to fight, the greater the population will dwindle.
Even if it's ideal to destroy the whole wave and survive, sometimes it's best to survive even if it means less population at the end. A hero that survives can pass on their genes and experience to the remaining population, thus strengthening the next hero who will fight the next wave.
Unfortunately...most of the interesting features I didn't have time to implement, so I'm stuck with the bare bones of a Survivors-like lol.
