ABOUT THE GAME

Why should you kill those pesky with a mere sword when you can send them to a grave retirement or poof them out of existence?

Help the hero survive as long as possible as he travels in a loop. Goblins are dangerous but nothing is more dangerous than your hero’s mortality. With your time magic, you can keep your hero away from dying of old age while doing the opposite to the goblins using your ability to manipulate age. But be careful: aging means growth but death’s remorseless swing is creeping ever forward, while reversing age means youth but there’s such a thing as being too young to exist.

HOW TO PLAY

Keep the hero alive for as many days as possible.

The hero moves in a fixed loop. 

When he encounters a monster, they'll fight until at least one of them dies. The combat is simple: each turn the combatant will deal Attack amount of damage to the other's HP. When HP is 0, the character dies. IF the hero dies, GAME OVER.

The game tracks the flow of time by using in-game days. Every day in the game, each character will grow their HP and Attack value based on their respective growth chance. The Hero has a higher chance of growing his stats compared to the goblins. Each character also has their own lifespan: the Hero has a lifespan of 100 while the goblin's lifespan is 50.

You can help the hero by using time magic - Age Up and Age Down spells - to manipulate the age of both heroes and enemies. Every day, you can use mana to power those spells and the higher the strength of the spell, the more mana is required. 1 strength provides age manipulation of 1 day. You'll restore 1 mana per day so manage your mana properly.

Age Up will increase a character's age. You can use it on any character including the Hero. Stats growth will still be applied with Age Up depending on the number of age increase. Use Age Up to send the goblin to a grave "retirement"by increasing its health beyond its lifespan. You can also Age Up the hero to boost his stats but be careful to not increase age beyond his lifespan.

Age Down is the reverse of Age Up. Stats will decrease instead on Age Down. Use Age Down to keep the Hero's age below 100 but be careful of lowering too much because HP can be lowered below 0 thus killing the Hero; use that to your advantage with the goblins. If lifespan is less than 0, the character will "die" of non-existence.

EDIT: Oh, maybe I didn’t read the content guideline of the jam properly:

Keep games appropriate for a general audience. Mild blood and gore is fine. No nudity,  no triggering topics.

If there’s something that’s actually triggering you and others, I’ll immediately pull the game out of the submissions. It’s my mistake for not reading the rules and I apologize and will make sure to read the rules properly next time.
